Holes is a site-specific installation that embraces the gallery’s history by integrating existing mounting holes, transforming traces of past exhibitions into a contemplative dialogue with the cosmos. Public domain images of astronomical bodies obtained from ESA and NASA, printed on delicate acetate sheets, are superimposed onto these voids, blurring the boundary between micro and macro scales. The juxtaposition of wall holes—once insignificant relics of other artworks—with celestial objects evokes a poignant reflection on gravitational wells and the inevitable pull of entropy. Both the punctures in the wall and these massive celestial entities become metaphors for collapse, inviting us to consider the slow drift toward dissolution, whether in a gallery space or the universe, as all things converge into black holes.
