Acrylic Monoprint, Salvaged Foam boards on Dyed Canvas
2021
In Noise (2017-present), static noise hums at the edges of comprehension, a flickering sign of the unknown—a visual disturbance that teeters between presence and absence. The incomplete monoprints are like half-forgotten whispers, layered with ghostly echoes of ancient markings that resurface in fragments. Their partial transfer invites the viewer into the space of what’s missing, where meaning slips away, leaving only the residue of time’s erasure.
The process, too, is an act of disruption. Paint, not just as pigment but as a kind of binder between worlds, clings to repurposed foam boards, carrying with it the memory of what once was. The foam, with its ephemeral nature, serves as a counterpoint to the gravity of the marks. Together, they evoke a liminal space—where fleeting impressions meet the weight of history, and where the act of printing becomes a gesture towards grasping the ungraspable.
